Arise is the latest movie from Travis Karian, whose previous titles include “From This Day Forward” and “The Cast”. With Arise, Travis has teamed up with Rory Hiller and TJ Ridings, to the definite benefit of the movie, a marked improvement on “The Cast”. Again a primarily progressive flick, arise features such cutting edge riders as Lance Ho’okano, Tellus Fix and Josh Baxter.
Backed with a smooth blend of funky to folky tunes, from such bands as Ozomatli, Modest Mouse and Kruder & Dorfmeister, some key scenes include the slickest noseride heli from Kai Sallas, Taylor Jensen’s aerial work, an insanely crisp reverse take off by Tellus Fix and an Indo trip with Josh Baxter and Dave Simons that makes you sick!
There’s an extra 10 minutes of bonus footage, which features, in our opinion, the hottest section of the lot; Dodger Kremel mixing old and new, stomping nose rides, and smacking the lip all on one wave.
There’s also some great footage taken from this year’s Noosa Festival.
