Beached As - Then and Now

Photographer/Author Craig Levers has spent the last 2 years retracing the footsteps of his late favourite Aunt to reproduce the beach photos she took over 60 years ago.

This ever-popular Then and Now theme runs throughout the book, with the double page spreads featuring Auntie Audrey’s stunning images complimented by present day images that have been shot, in many cases, from exactly the same spot. Some dating back to the 1940’s.

The beaches featured insure full geographical diversity of all of NZ. Bethells Beach/ Te Henga, Hahei Beach, Opunake Beach, Hickory Bay, Oriental Bay, Rangitukia Beach, Blackhead, Mount Maunganui, Moeraki, Kaiteriteri, Sandy Bay, Waihau Bay, Te Kaha, Tauranga Bay, Orokawa Bay, Taupo Bay, Punakaiki, Opoutere Beach, Port Waikato, Okiwi Bay, Bucklands Beach, Te Arai Point, Waihi Beach, Curio Bay, Arid Cove, Papatea, Waikanae, Cannibal Bay, Howick Beach, Hicks Bay and Opononi.
